This program was developed for use with the CopperCube game engine. It is designed to work with a joystick, allowing users to control and interact with games or applications developed in CopperCube. The main functionality of CopperGamePad is to capture data from the joystick's button presses and transmit it to CopperCube as variables. This means that users can integrate joystick input into their games or applications, making the gaming experience more immersive and interactive. When transmitting data, CopperGamePad sends button states as 0 or 1, representing the buttons' pressed or unpressed states, respectively. Additionally, it sends axis values ranging from -1 to 1, which correspond to the joystick's directional movement along its axes. The program operates as a console application, which typically means it interacts with the user through text-based commands or input/output. It offers customization options for the buttons, allowing users to configure the joystick according to their preferences and needs. Overall, CopperGamePad serves as a bridge between a joystick and the CopperCube game engine, enhancing the gaming experience by enabling joystick controls and input for games and applications created using CopperCube. The program is currently in early access, indicating that it might still be under development and may have some features that are not fully polished or optimized. This project is a compilation of files, including the CGP program itself, documentation, and the CopperCube extension. The project was collaboratively developed with my colleague, OkeOke, who specializes in creating extensions for CopperCube, while I focus on writing the program itself.
